Trio Degas was founded in 2003 within the Italian Youth Orchestra; it owes his artistical and musical education in particular to the "Trio di Parma" (three-years-Master at the School of Music of Fiesole), Alessandro Specchi and  Bruno Canino. 

 

The members of Trio Degas collaborate actively with the major european orchestras, conducted by Maestros as Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Kent Nagano, Yury Temirkanov, John Eliot Gardiner, Valery Gergiev, Georges Pretre, etc., and performing in the most prestigious concert halls of the world (Berlin, Vienna, London, Basel, Zurich, Paris, New York, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Hong Kong, etc.). 

 

Moreover, they dedicate an important part of their musical lives to their Trio Degas, leaded by a constant research for revaluation of classical Clarinet Trio-Repertoire, along with a strong curiosity and interest for the discovery of forgotten masterpieces and new works by contemporary composers. 

Since its first public performances, the Ensemble has awakened the interest of many prominent personalities of the international music scene. 

 

PRIZES: The Trio, awarded by Prize "P. Fioretti" in Florence, distinguished itself in many International Competitions and Reviews, getting a large number of awards, as the 1st outright Prizes at: 5th Music Compet. "Riviera Etrusca", 5th European Chamber Music Competition "Vasto", 9th Chamber Competition "Rospigliosi", 12th Music Competition "Città di Grosseto".  

At the 3rd International Piano & Chamber Music Competition "Città di Pesaro" in 2006 Trio Degas got the highest prize of the whole contest. 

In 2009, it won the 3rd prize (no 1st) at "G. Bergamo Classic Music Awards 2009 "in Lugano (Switzerland). In 2010 the Trio Degas gained the 1st Prize at the International Competition "Marco Fiorindo" in Turin and the 2nd Prize (no 1st) at International Competition "Città di Assisi". 

In October 2011 comes the victory of two awards at the International Chamber Music Competition "Luigi Nono" of Venaria (To), 2nd Prize and Special Prize "Twentieth Century", concerning the performance of the Nino Rota's Clarinet Trio. 

In June 2012, finally, the trio Gained the 3rd prize at the International Competition "Gaetano Zinetti" in Sanguinetto (VR).

FRANCESCO NEGRINI
He studied with Thomas Friedli, Alessandro Carbonare and François Benda, obtaining the Soloist Diplom at the Musik Hochschule in Basel. As a performer and chamber musician he also owes his formation at Trio di Parma, B. Canino, G. Pretto, F. Meloni, G. Tirincanti, R.Stoltzman, W. Seyfarth, P. Beltramini, P. A. Taillard. Ex Solo clarinet of Italian Youth Orchestra, he collaborates with Swiss Chamber Soloists, Gstaad Festival Orchestra, Collegium Musicum Basel, Camerata Bern, Orchestra della Toscana, Kammerorchester Basel, Orchestra Mozart, Orchestra of St. Cecilia, Ensemble Nuovo Contrappunto, Phoenix Ensemble, Lyric Theatre of Cagliari, etc. In Orchestra and as chamber musician took part at recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, France Musique, SWR, Amadeus, RAI, DRS 2, and to tournee in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He worked under the direction of C. Abbado, J. E. Gardiner, K.Nagano, R. Muti, Y. Temirkanov, D. Cats, E.Inbal, and he performed as a soloist, among others, with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the Basel Symphony Orchestra, performing concerts of Mozart, Nielsen and Françaix. He received numerous honors and awards: Valentino Bucchi-Rome 2007, Rovereto Audimozart-2006, Udine 2010, Concours du Jura 2011, Orpheus Musikwettbewerb 2012; awarded by Boccaccini 2005 Award of Florence, the Kiefer-Hablitzel Foundation Berne, the Swiss Association of Musicians and Dienemann Foundation of Lucerne,in 2010 by the BOG-Orchester Gesellschaft Basel and the Jeunesse Musicale Suisse (SUISA Price) and in 2011 by the Foundation "Nicati-Deluze" Lausanne and by Accademia Chigiana Siena.

From 2012 he is Solo Clarinet of Aargauer Symphonie Orchester (CH).

LUCA BACELLI
Born in Pesaro in 1980, he began studying the cello with  Sante Amadori, and graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Music "G. Rossini" in Pesaro, under the guidance of Maestro Walter Di Stefano. He improved after the Masters with Marianne Chen, Andrea Nannoni, Enrico Bronzi and George Schultis. He received with full honors the second-level academic degree in chamber music at the Conservatory "B. Maderna "in Cesena. He studied chamber music with piano at the International Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola, held by M ° Pier Narciso Masi, achieving the prestigious Master's degree. In addition to special courses attended with Trio Degas, was also active student of master classes and string quartet held by Prometheus and Artemis quartets and chamber music courses held by 'Altenberg Trio Wien' at the Academy of Music Pinerolo. Currently he plays and works, even as principal cellist, with numerous symphonic and chamber orchestras. He played beside internationally renowned conductors and musicians, such as C. Abbado, L.Maazel, G. Pretre, V. Gergiev, E. Inbal, D. Gatti, N. Gutman, S. Accardo. He was principal cellist of the Italian Youth Orchestra for a couple of years and is currently a member of the Orchestra Mozart Bologna, founded and directed by Claudio Abbado, and of the Spira Mirabilis Project. Several the experiences in chamber music: he has performed in many concerts as a soloist, with orchestras and ensembles, in Italy and all abroad, getting consents from audiences and critics. He preformed many times for prestigious concert seasons and gained statements in national and international competitions for chamber music. Since 2004 he is member of AdM Ensemble, the chamber group of the Amici della Musica di Modena, that focuses its activities in modern and contemporary music. Assignee of numerous scholarships (between the main the ones conferred by the Foundation Christoff and the Regia Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna), has took part in recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Mundi, Rai, Amadeus.

MATTEO SARTI
Born in 1980, he graduated in piano at the Musical Institute "Pietro Mascagni" of Livorno with honors. While learning the solo repertoire began his chamber music studying with Maestro Riccardo Cecchetti (member of the Trio Intimae Voices). Numerous performances as soloist, also harpsichordist and chamber musician. He continued his training chamber with Maestro Alessandro Specchi. Winner of the audition for the Italian Youth Orchestra in 2001, began his concert activity in Italy and abroad as soloist (Concertino premiere of Luis de Pablo for two pianos and string orchestra) in various chamber ensembles and orchestras OGI and Vincenzo Galilei under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda, Gabriele Ferro, Daniele Gatti, David Geringas recording for RAI radio and tv. Furthered his studies at the Academy of Musical Theatre Cinghio of Parma under the guidance of Maestro Alberto Miodini (member of Trio di Parma), recipient of Federal Scholarship for foreign artists, it was later brilliantly skilled at getting the Swiss Italian Conservatory with honors diplomas in "Interpretation and Performance" under the guidance of Nora Doallo and "Piano Pedagogy" under the guidance of Roberto Braccini .From 2005 to 2006 he worked with the orchestra "Luigi Cherubini" directed by maestro Riccardo Muti playing in important addition to participating theaters went on tour that involved the same orchestra for the Ravenna Festival and the Arena in Pula in Croatia under the leadership of Directost Temirkanov and Muti. Also participates in the opening concert of the Italian Film Festival in Rome playing music of Nino Rota. Since 2006 participated in the concert season of contemporary music "900 and present" for the RSI in collaboration with the Swiss Italian Conservatory of both ensembles and as soloist, performing the great Jazz Symphony of G. Antheil's Piano and Orchestra conducted by Maestro Giorgio Bernasconi. He participated in the Festival Argerich in Lugano as an accompanist of Ivry Gitlis Masterclass and was invited to participate in the Festival "Love The Piano" in collaboration with the International Piano Foundation "Theo Lieven" performing and participating in masterclasses with William Grant Nabor, John Perry and Peter Frankl. He is currently a full professor of piano at various music schools of the Italian Switzerland and has recently achieved at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland Master of specialization as a soloist under the guidance of Nora Doallo concluding his career with the brilliant performance of the Concerto No. 2 for piano and orchestra by D.Shostakovich accompanied by the Orchestra of Italian Switzerland.
